Dancing with the Delaware Stars Fundraising Gala

Dancing with the Delaware Stars began in 2022 as part of the Wilmington Public Library’s 100-year Anniversary Gala. The event was so well received that the community demanded its return—and now, we proudly present the 4th Annual Dancing with the Delaware Stars Fundraising Gala, where community and business leaders take the stage to compete for the coveted Disco Ball Trophy and the title of 2025 DWTDS Champion.

Through an exciting partnership with Christina Cultural Arts Center, each Dancing with the Delaware Stars couple showcases the talents of local choreographers, bringing their artistry to center stage. Adding to the prestige, an internationally renowned and highly sought-after choreographer serves as the Creative Director of the DWTDS Talent Showcase, ensuring a production of the highest caliber.

A Legacy of Cultural Impact

Since Jamar Rahming became Executive Director in 2018, the Wilmington Public Library has welcomed an extraordinary lineup of cultural icons and thought leaders, including Angela Davis, LeVar Burton, Dolly Parton (who selected WPL for her early childhood reading initiative), Dennis Rodman, Pam Grier, Jennifer Lewis, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, the cast reunion of A Different World, and the "Kims of Comedy."

Wilmington Public Library’s capacity-crowd events attract residents from every zip code, socioeconomic background, and demographic the library serves. More than just a library, WPL has become Wilmington’s premier intellectual, social, and recreational hub.
